Alexander Emelianenko Ready to "Ground" Alexander Shlemenko

Russian heavyweight Alexander Emelianenko, who is set to face Alexey Goncharov today at the NFL 2 tournament in Nazran, has commented on the ongoing conflict between his brother Fedor Emelianenko and Alexander Shlemenko. This dispute escalated after Shlemenko's victory over Anatoly Tokov.

"Shlemenko doesn’t interest me, neither as a person nor as a fighter—I don’t pay any attention to him and only know about him from hearsay," Alexander Emelianenko stated at a pre-event press conference. "I know he’s a very arrogant, conceited person, and he needs to be brought down to earth so that he stops flying on clouds and starts walking on the ground. I’m ready to step into the ring with him and beat him."

To recap, Alexander Shlemenko defeated Anatoly Tokov via a split decision last week at RCC 21 in Yekaterinburg. After the fight, "Storm" mockingly sent greetings to Tokov’s coach, Fedor Emelianenko.

Fedor responded by congratulating Shlemenko on his victory but subtly accused him of doping.
