Oleksandr Usyk’s Sparring Partner Compares Him to the Legendary Muhammad Ali
Giovanni Scuderi, an Italian heavyweight prospect and sparring partner for Oleksandr Usyk during his training camp ahead of the rematch with former world champion Tyson Fury, compared Usyk to the iconic Muhammad Ali.
"I went through the entire training camp with Usyk again, and it was an honor for me. In total, I did 70 rounds of sparring with him. I have an excellent relationship with his team, so I wasn’t just sparring but also training alongside him the whole time. Usyk isn’t just a phenomenal boxer — I’ve heard about how he helps his people and those in need, and it deeply inspires me. He truly is the Muhammad Ali of our time," Scuderi said in an interview with the Luckypunch YouTube channel.
The highly anticipated rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is set to take place on December 21, 2024, in Saudi Arabia.
