“Islam will probably retire from the sport before turning 35, just like Khabib Nurmagomedov did. Thirty-five seems to be a magic number for these guys. For them, it represents some sort of boundary. I think Islam is already financially secure,” the coach explained.
It’s worth noting that Makhachev turned 33 in October, leaving only a short time before he might follow in the footsteps of his longtime teammate and friend, Khabib.
